Guardian Scholars “Goods For Grades”

Goods for Grades is Foster Care Counts’ new program to help foster youth set and achieve school-related goals to help them persist through and graduate from college. Students set goals with their advisors, and receive “shopping dollars” for all goals they meet. They can then use their “shopping dollars” to “purchase” new and gently-used clothing at our semi-annual mobile clothing boutique which will visit their school twice a year.

On Monday, July 7, Foster Care Counts’ volunteers and Los Angeles City College Guardian Scholars staff assembled our first ever mobile boutique – “Goods For Grades.”  Foster youth enrolled in summer courses and recent graduates were invited to shop, eat, and celebrate their hard work.  Check out the photos below!  Video of the boutique is on YouTube.
